High antioxidant diet associated with fewer strokes
Swedish researchers found that consuming a diet that is rich in atioxidants may be associated with a lower stroke risk factor, in women.
The study conduced in 2011 evaluated almost 6,000 women with a history of vascular disease, and over 30,000 women with no history. For women with no history of the disease there was a 17% lower risk of stroke. For women with a history of heart disease, there was a 46% lower risk of hemorrhagic stroke.
